Terms of Service / Rules

Consider this informal, as I have not consulted a lawyer. I expect reasonable behavior from end users:

1. Do not abuse the server or systems, including ban evasion and repeated abuse of reporting systems
2. Be civil. Do not harrass other users or incite, encourage, or celebrate real-world violence.
3. Do not link to porn or illegal content.

It is highly recommended, but not strictly required that you avoid controversial topics such as politics or religion. This is a place to have fun, but I also realize drawing a hard line is not really possible because there is so much room for interpretation... Plus it would be a bit hypocritical of me since I plan on touching on political and religious themes in the campaign storylines. Not to mention it would be quite problematic to effectively ban substantive conversations about the themes of the campaign.

I reserve the right to add or edit rules as the need arises, but I will not retroactively punish behavior. I believe it is important to have some level of predictability and clear understanding of where the line is.

Copyright / Licensing

My goal is to emulate de-facto fair use explicitly via licensing, permitting:

• Unlimited streaming of gameplay with audio fully enabled
• Fan art, cosplay, etc... even commercially
• Mods, including commercial mods, as long as they are distributed in a way that does not take from my income potential from this game
• Third-party organized tournaments of any size with real prizes
• Fangames and movies. If commercial, all I ask is a 10% or $5 royalty per sale, whichever is smaller.

I haven't given this a ton of thought or consulted a lawyer, but suffice it to say that I'm not interested in being a hardass about my IP rights.

AI Disclosure

Some content on this site is AI generated. As time goes on, much of this will be replaced by human-created content, however some will likely remain. Not all AI usage is AI slop and I aim for a judicious use of it. I believe that generative AI is a tool for creativity, but not something that should be used to automate the entire creative process to make a quick buck. AI slop farms are disgraceful and deserve to be called out, but the use of AI in and of itself is not bad.
